Eric Rietzschel

I am an assistant professor in Organizational Psychology. In 2000, I received my Master's degree in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Amsterdam, and then went on to do Ph.D. research at the department of Work and Organizational Psychology at the same university; in this project, I worked with Wolfgang Stroebe (University of Utrecht), Bernard Nijstad (University of Amsterdam) and Carsten de Dreu (University of Amsterdam). In 2005, I received my Ph.D. from the University of Utrecht.

My research mainly concerns individual and group creativity. For example, my research has addressed the question to what degree, and in what way, the generation of creative ideas contributes to the selection of high-quality ideas. However, I am also interested in evolutionary psychology, decision making, motivation, methodology, and the psychology of science.
